Day 2 as a Non-Smoker

I have to admit, I was kind of surprised that I made it through one day as a non-smoker and that made me realize that yes, I really could quit. Unfortunately, that also led to the line of thought that said hey, now that I know I can quit, I can smoke again and quit for real whenever I want. That was the nicotine talking I guess and my body wanted it pretty bad.

My nicotine fits were stronger and more frequent on Day 2 so I just rode my bike a lot more (2 or 3 times an hour) and I ate a lot of nuts and drank a lot of water. They say that water helps purge the nicotine from your system and I don't know if that is true or not but it gives your hands and mouth something to do and it won't make you get fat.

Overall the biggest problem on Day 2 was that of simply breaking the habit. When you are used to reaching for your cigarettes every 15 to 30 minutes it is damn hard to stop doing that. Apart from keeping busy, I think the only way to cure this problem is to just wait until the habit fades.
