Day 6 as a Non-Smoker

After surviving Day 5, I was relieved to wake up feeling pretty darn good. In fact, I was a completely different person. I had only a slight physical urge to smoke and I wasn't crabby at all. I had toughed it out and the worst was over.

We went to Wal-Mart that day and for the first time in memory, I was able to smell someone else's smoke (out in the parking lot) and it was horrible. To me, that was a good sign. I was surprised at how bad it smelled and I was also surprised at how sensitive I was to it. Just a few days earlier I wouldn't have noticed it at all.

I still had some nic fits but these were easily ignored and they came and went without incident. By now my bike riding was becoming something of a habit and found that I was riding it just because I wanted to, not because I was trying to burn off some of the energy from a nic fit.

So as of Day 6, 5 days weren't all that bad and only one day was brutal. If I had been using the patch, I'd still be hooked and I'd still be having day long nic fits so I'm glad I didn't go that route (again).
